Cupps Beer Root Brewery is the only beverage company that actually makes “Beer Root Root Beer” and not root beer flavored “soda pop”.   BEER is defined by Merriam-Webster as “a carbonated non-alcoholic or a fermented slightly alcoholic beverage with flavoring from roots or other plant parts.”  Whereas SODA POP is defined by Merriam-Webster as “a sweet drink containing soda water, flavoring, and a sweet syrup”. The beverage industry has turned “root beer” into a flavor and therefore it is no longer what it was invented to be.

Cupps Beer Root commands special attention because it is handcrafted.  It is similar to other products in the culinary industry with artisan origins such as cheeses, gelatos, balsamic vinegars, beers, wines, etcetera where a mastery of the creative process is required, as is a knowledge of ingredients and a relentless pursuit of perfection.  These special products lend themselves to the stories that promote a taste that consumers are very curious about and their love for it is never ending.  

Cupps Brewery makes Cupps Beer Root (non-alcoholic) Root Beer the old-fashioned way; we brew and ferment our Root Beer.  Cupps Beer Root is made by combining our special recipe of organic roots, barks, herbs, spices, molasses, ginger yeast and sugar, with distilled water.  We cook and cool this blend, crafting the ingredients into a special beer root tea – our WORT as this beer root “starter” is called. Once cooled, the wort is then lautered where we separate out the solids – the organic roots, barks, herbs, and spices from the liquid wort.  The wort is then “pitched” with our custom hand-crafted ginger yeast culture and is fermented for 24 hours before being flash pasteurized, cooled to room temperature, and filtered. The beer root is cooled to 38 degrees F then add additional carbonation before finalizing the process with bottle filling, capping, and labeling.   

Cupps Beer Root is real “root” beer and is not a “root beer flavored soda” — it is an organic, gluten-free, Beer Root with no artificial preservatives, artificial flavors, or colors added.
