BRYAN CUPPS
Prior to starting Cupps Beer Root, Bryan has co-founded several technology start-ups over his 30-year career – designing and engineering both software and hardware solutions.
The Cyberslice/Food.com online ordering system was the first of its kind which enabled hungry consumers to initially order pizza and eventually all culinary food groups online.
The Food.com technology was nominated for the 1997 Smithsonian Award by Steve Jobs of Apple Computers and archived in the Smithsonian Institute, Computer Science, Inventions of the 20th Century. The U.S. Patent Office awarded as inventor a patent covering key aspects of the Food.com technology, December 1998.
Bryan was also the co-founder of iWare. iWare developed a desktop application called an iBar that resided in the Windows 95/98 task bar. iWare allowed the user to personalize their desktop with TouchTiles. iWare had advertising that appeared on the iBar targeted to user-specific preferences, thus creating a more personalized, relevant Internet experience. This was one of the first of its kind to implement a “push” technology that pushed content to a user’s desktop. This application was distributed to more than one million users before being sold to eMachines.
Bryan co-founded a company called DualCor Technologies. Bryan designed and developed a hardware device, an Ultra Mobile Personal Computer (UMPC) called the cPC that ran two Operating Systems, Windows Mobile, and Windows XP. The user interface was a five-inch diagonal touchscreen – a precursor to the iPhone. Bryan received fourteen United States patents on the technology - a Personal Electronics Device, a Novel Personal Electronics Device with a Dual Core Processor, a Personal Electronics Device with Display Switching, a Personal Electronics Device with Common Application Platform, and Personal Electronics Device with Appliance Drive features.
Bryan has also designed and developed other technology solutions and founded other technology ventures.
Bryan lives in Las Vegas Nevada with his wife of 24 years, Autumn, and three children who are crazy about Cupps Beer Root.
